The Go Green 10 Conference was last week and I was on the panel for the "Oregon State Communities: Economic Development Strategies Around Sustainability" breakout session. I presented Columbia Pacific Preservation's efforts at creating an economic cluster based on historic preservation and also Clatsop Community College's Historic Preservation Program, which is part of that effort. This and a discussion of 20 minute neighborhoods were the only mention of historic preservation as part of sustainability (which either means everyone finds it self evident or that we have some work to do).

Even though awareness of how GREEN preservation is may be growing, we most definitely have more work to do!
The HPLO has on our agenda for 2011 to create an education program on Sustainability & Preservation - then we'll need to take it on the road!
