Between thesis interviews and it being Oregon’s birthday (happy birthday Oregon!), today I spent a piece of the afternoon at the Portland Historic Landmarks Commission’s bimonthly Monday hearing. Rummers Rummers Everywhere

And none of them are for sale - apparently, there's a waiting list and we found out why this weekend when our tour committee visited the homes that will be featured on our Oak Hills Rummer tour.  I love my old foursquare, but the Rummers had me yearning for an atrium, in-floor heat and a sunken shower. Sigh! The homeowners must save a fortune on electricity - it was overcast, yet the main rooms were light and bright and so many of the atriums were full of vegetation that couldn't exist…
